What is SDGs?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the successors to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) established in 2001, and were adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015. These are international goals from 2016 to 2030 described in the 2030 Agenda.

Consisting of 17 goals and 169 targets for achieving a sustainable world, we pledge not to be left behind as anyone on the planet.

What is the significance of promoting SDGs for regional revitalization?

The population of Japan has been declining at an accelerating pace since entering the phase of decline after peaking in 2008, and it is estimated that all prefectures except Tokyo will fall below 2015 in 2045.

In addition, the population of the elderly aged 65 and over is about 35.15 million and the ratio of the elderly is the highest at about 27.7% (as of October 2017). And progressing on a scale.

Impact of a declining society on the economy

・ Sustainability such as social security will become difficult, which will have a negative impact on willingness to work

(2015: 2.28 per elderly person, 2042: 1.48 per elderly person)

・ It will be difficult to maintain villages due to a decrease in vitality in mountainous areas.

・ In the Tokyo area, medical care and nursing care will be required due to the sudden increase in the number of elderly people, and young employees will be absorbed into the Tokyo area.

In order to aim for a “community that can run affluent and affluent lives with peace of mind '', residents, businesses, farmers, governments, NPOs, residents' associations, It is important that activities to realize a sustainable regional future beyond individual fields and organizations such as commercial and industrial associations, agricultural cooperatives, and schools, and beyond areas such as industry, the environment, education, medical care, welfare, disaster prevention, and community development It has become.

For regional revitalization, it is necessary to work on sustainable town development with a medium- to long-term perspective. Right now, efforts to achieve the SDGs, such as creating a vision for the future and disseminating information, will lead to the realization of regional revitalization!

17 goals

There are 17 goals that the world needs to achieve, but each goal is not independent.

Being closely related to each other, one action can hinder another goal or have a positive effect on multiple goals.

It is necessary to work on regional revitalization while considering the connection with other goals.
